Valve-Regulated Lead Acid batteries - in both Absorbent Glass Mat and Gel configurations - are the most widely used battery technology for industrial standby and cyclic power applications globally, and Genfocus Automation L.L.C. supplies them across a broad range of UAE UPS, solar storage, emergency lighting, telecommunications, and substation backup power applications. VRLA batteries are sealed, valve-regulated, and completely maintenance-free in normal operation - they do not require water topping up, do not emit hydrogen gas at float charge levels that require ventilation system design, and can be installed in any orientation - making them practical and cost-effective for the majority of UAE indoor power backup applications.

The most critical engineering consideration for VRLA battery installations in the UAE is temperature management. VRLA batteries are rated for a design life of 10 or 12 years at a reference temperature of 25°C - but battery life is reduced by approximately 50 percent for every 10°C rise above this reference. In UAE installations where battery rooms reach 35 to 45°C, unprotected VRLA batteries may deliver as little as 25 percent of their rated design life. Genfocus Automation addresses this through careful specification of battery room cooling systems, selection of high-temperature rated battery grades where available, and the use of temperature-compensated charger systems - protecting the client's battery investment and ensuring the system delivers its full rated autonomy when it is actually needed.
